Bonnie Howell

Bonnie Foster Howell is a graduate of St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, NC, where she received a BA degree in Fine Arts. She received her teacher’s certificate from Washington College in Chestertown, MD, and taught art in both public and private schools. Bonnie has also studied art at University of Maryland, University of Delaware, and has attended many seminars and classes from noted portraitists. Her prize winning oils have been exhibited in many area shows and can be found in homes and collections across the country. Mrs. Howell works primarily in oils and features paintings of life-portraits and nature. Her love of people and for the Creator of Life, continues to inspire an endless array of subjects for her to paint. Bonnie says,”I Love Life!”. So it is natural that she share that love through her paintings, whether the image is of nature or of people. In a scene dappled in sunlight, or shrouded in fog, in the still waters of a quiet creek, in a portrait of a childs’ innocence, or the dignity of an individual in retirement; the love of beauty and respect for life is conveyed. It is a particular joy for Bonnie to paint people. She loves looking into their faces, catching their glances, exchanging smiles.
