Nancy’s subjects include, harvested fields, Autumn skies, colorful trees and the glistening light of the harvest moon. Her show portrays the very exciting and transitional time before the “ rest” of winter. It consists primarily of oil paintings, depicting scenes from dusk to dawn of trees, fields, farms and open skies of the Eastern Shore in Fall.
Thomas enjoyed a career in dance before focusing her attention full time to the visual arts. She acquired an Associates Degree in Fine Arts graduating Suma Cum Laude from Northern VA Community College. She moved to the Eastern Shore 21 years ago and resides in Ridgely with her husband, Merrill Thomas, an Eastern Shore native. Thomas finds great inspiration in the unique beauty of the waterways, fields, and wide open skies of the Eastern Shore. She particularly enjoys an annual trip to the Primehook area near Lewes DE, for painting with five fellow artists, each October. Some of these works will be featured in the show.
Nancy is a juried member of the Working Artists Forum, President 2006-2009, the Washington Water Color Association, and The Baltimore Watercolor Society.
