Born
in Nassawaddox, Virginia, Jeanne is a true native of the Eastern
Shore. her grandmother was raised in the Kitty Knight House in
Georgetown, Maryland and continued to reside in the town with her family.
As
a child, Jeanne studied with Nance Hall Asher in
her Denton studio and
received no additional training until a college drawing class her last
semester of college. Upon returning to the Eastern Shore after
college, Jeanne took advantage of classes such as those taught by
prominent area artists at the Academy of the Arts in Easton, Maryland.
Called
a "Renaissance Woman" by a friend, Jeanne likes to work in many
media including watercolor, oils, pastel, pen-and-ink, colored pencil and acrylic.
Lately, she has expanded her photography efforts beyond resource material
for her paintings and her children's sporting events. Jeanne feels
that the capturing of that "certain moment in time" is quite
exciting. Jeanne
lives in Ridgley, Maryland with her husband, Orrell, and paints in her
Shady Grove Studio at their home.
