Gallery, will feature recent works of Nancy R. Thomas for the
month of September. Her focus is on Autumn, the glorious colors
displayed, as well as, Autumn, the season of metamorphosis.
Nancy’s subjects include, harvested fields, Autumn skies,
colorful trees and the glistening light of the harvest moon. Her
show portrays the very exciting and transitional time before the
“ rest” of winter. It consists primarily of oil paintings,
depicting scenes from dusk to dawn of trees, fields, farms and
open skies of the Eastern Shore in Fall.
a career in dance before focusing her attention full time to the
visual arts. She acquired an Associates Degree in Fine Arts
graduating Suma Cum Laude from Northern VA Community College.
She moved to the Eastern Shore 21 years ago and resides in
Ridgely with her husband, Merrill Thomas, an Eastern Shore
native. Thomas finds great inspiration in the unique beauty of
the waterways, fields, and wide open skies of the Eastern Shore.
She particularly enjoys an annual trip to the Primehook area
near Lewes DE, for painting with five fellow artists, each
October. Some of these works will be featured in the show.
Nancy is a
juried member of the Working Artists Forum, President 2006-2009,
the Washington Water Color Association, and The Baltimore
Watercolor Society. She shows widely in local and national shows
and has been the recipient of many awards. The reception at the
Artists’ Gallery will be held First Friday, September, 4th
from 5 to 8 pm. Please come to meet the artist and enjoy the
